About
CAP Enterprise
At CAP Enterprise, our reach goes beyond mere consultancy; we function as catalysts of transformation.
We specialize in a range of critical domains, from honing the intricacies of strategic business planning and diversifying income streams, to elucidating the theory of change and maximizing social impact.
Our prowess extends to marketing strategies that foster client engagement in an increasingly digital landscape, promoting efficiency through digital working while fostering meaningful partnerships and collaborations.
Our commitment to results is unwavering, exemplified by our comprehensive monitoring and evaluation practices that ensure the efficacy of every endeavour.
Driven by an unswerving belief in the potential of individuals and organizations alike, we continue to shape the future through our holistic approach to consultancy.
Welcome to CAP Enterprise – where innovation, empowerment, and social progress intersect to create successful, meaningful and sustainable impact.
CAP Enterprise (Kent) cic was formed in 2011 by a team of highly experienced social enterprise experts to help grow Kent's social economy - supporting people to start new social enterprises and organisations wanting to adopt a more enterprising approach.
From 2014, we began working with individuals to build enterprise skills and to help them adopt a more can-do approach to life and work - launching our Little Shop of Dreams and What About You training and development programmes.
In 2016 we were asked to start working in prisons - delivering self-employment training and coaching. Since then we have supported over 1,000 serving prisoners across the South East to make plans to 'go straight' and to avoid reoffending.
In 2022 we played a leading role in the Medway Together socio-economic programme – delivering:
-
Business Builder - our self-employment course
-
Enterprise Coaching – 121 support for aspiring new business owners
-
Let’s Get Moving – personal development and life planning sessions
-
Community Engagement – working with community partners to identify people
In 2023, thanks to funding from the National Lottery, the Henry Smith Charity and the Collyer Fergusson Foundation, CAP delivered the pilot of their Inside Out Conversions project – an innovative action learning project based in HMP Rochester to teach a small group of prisoners to convert a delivery van into a rentable campervan – skills they can use to find employment when released.
Looking forward CAP is keen to work more with HMPPS, to unlock the talent and ability within the prison population – supporting more ethically-minded new businesses start up and helping people make plans for a crime-free life on the outside. We also plan to develop our accredited training portfolio, so that our clients can also walk away with qualifications too.
We also recognise our potential to help people struggling with the cost of living crisis – helping support organisations become more sustainable and helping people use their skills and talent to increase their household earnings.
